Smuggling reign of terror. Special judge. I [sic: i]n a few days all ring leaders put in prison — bail for 300,000 pesetas — including Mayor of Felanitx & Miguel of Bar Ritz, & one from Bar Formentor & one from Café Born. Head of tobacco company released on bail of 25,000 then arrested: bail demanded was then 200,000. (Also stern round up of passportless foreigners.) Heavy prison sentences.
