Friday May 8th

Finished A.F.G. proofs, except for things to ask Laura. Laura read me Troy all morning.
It rained all night and practically [sic: practicaly] all day. Headache all day.
From Bill Fuller, an excellently prepared revision of Chapter XII, from L.H. a letter enclosing the T.E. Trustees terms: impossible & insulting. Wrote to L.H. proposing to arrange for American piracy.
Worked over revision of Chapter XII pleased to find how little F. had found it necessary to alter.
Rain all night.
Gelat came to settle account.
No news yet of road or of ayuntamiento1.
