The Junyers gave us a Holbein engravingIt was only a print: a reproduction of an engraving cut out from the London Illustrated News. Was [eventually] given to Honor Wyatt who gave it to Julian Glover. WG of Sir Thomas Wyatt – the very one I had asked Honor to get.

More to L.H. & sent him, revised, my typescript for retyping to conceal tampering with letters: gave him casting vote on certain indifferent points.
Really hot day: sea mist came up & blotted out village, but did not touch Canellun.
Did quarterly accounts: and a few odd letters.
What to do with porchadaporch roof. KG, which looks tilted from the road and not too good: perhaps trees.

Spend half afternoon hanging up green brocade hanging in Mesquida & rearranging – but it didn't do – & putting everything back. (Sent brocade back to Margarita)

Mist in village in evening, only touched Canellun slightly in afternoon.

Mist rose over mountains bright blue over Son Gallard about 3 o'clock. Over Palma too but sun over the part on the sea-side of Valldemossa – according to Karl who went in to Palma & bought 2 boxof cigarettes? eds & 2 laurels for us for 120 pesetas. Brought my new passport.

Mitchell came in person with his reply that he would talk about him when where & how he liked.

Gelat came and showed us a mysteriously anonymous circular letter sent to important people in the village about Mayor's duty to ask village to approve of Doctor's extra pay, & complaining of Dr's absence.
Juan put up garden light and new round press-room one. Letter from Vyvyan Richardswho taught LR & RG printing. KG: passages from new book relating to us – might he send us, to approve. Replied friendlily, please!
Hot day. Plenty of freezias for cutting. Gelat giving trees chemical manure.
