            <p> To <rs type="place" ref="ref:Pal1">Palma</rs>, early. Dentist 9.30,
charged 40 <supplied>pts</supplied><note>RG indicates "pesetas" in different ways (and sometimes not at all). According to KG, "pts." is the correct abbreviation. eds.</note> for 3 visits. Collected pension<note>RG drew a wound pension for damage to his lungs. KG</note>. Incident of bumbling
army-officer <add hand="ref:h_RG" place="supralinear">with green &amp; red reg. tie</add> waiting for pension saying to
officer no. 2 <q>I see you belong to my old corps.</q> This no. 2 was the sort of
officer one would draw if only allowed to draw in parallels and oblongs.
Bumbler was colour-blind. I had long before registered 'Scots Guards', so
bumbler had to apologise, <hi rend="text-decoration: underline;">he</hi> was only Sherwood Foresters. The man was called
Major Fotheringay—<unclear reason="crossed out"/>Hannibal as far as I could hear.             <p> Alice's kittens gone. Went and found them.</p>
            <p> Framed Claudius coin in cork.
 Made starfish, cork, 
bamboo, crab construction.</p>
            <p> Went to village to see <rs type="person" ref="ref:JM1">Gelat</rs> who has a sore place on
his groin from scratching a bite, in bed.</p>
            <p> To sea with <rs type="person" ref="ref:KG1">Karl</rs> &amp; Solomon <note>RG's dog. "Salamon" has now become "Solomon". KG</note>.
Bathed. Gave Solomon his first swim. Brought up wooden post for <rs type="person" ref="ref:LR1">Laura</rs>'s stand,
channelled by borer beetles also pebbles. <rs type="person" ref="ref:LR1">Laura</rs> tired went to bed. I had supper
in bed. No letters.</p>

that he had been selling <rs type="place" ref="ref:Son03">Son Canals</rs> in imagination; <rs type="person" ref="ref:BC1">Bernado</rs> is leaving <rs type="place" ref="ref:Dey1">Deyá</rs> for
<rs type="place" ref="ref:Pal1">Palma</rs> and will probably get rid of <rs type="place" ref="ref:Son03">Son Canals</rs>, first renting it to <rs type="person" ref="ref:An3">Anita</rs>'s
uncle. If <rs type="person" ref="ref:JM1">Gelat</rs> can get the job of buying and reselling the property, it will
leave him with a nice bit in hand because there are always buyers for small

ago on a house in San Marsal. The S. Marsal man they took into their confidence
warned the village who surrounded them in the flat country just outside the
village and despite the robbers having revolvers slung them to death with
