               <rs type="person" ref="ref:Am1">Amador</rs>'s wages.  Another draft of the poem:  now called <bibl><rs type="cita" ref="ref:PaR">Big-head</rs></bibl>.</p>

               <rs type="person" ref="ref:JN1">Jenny</rs> came up to Town: in a place at 15 <rs type="place" ref="ref:Bas01">Basil St</rs>.  She lunched with <rs type="person" ref="ref:KG1">Karl</rs>.  We gave her her new ring.</p>

               <rs type="person" ref="ref:JA1">John</rs> &amp; <rs type="person" ref="ref:La2">Lucie</rs> all day.  <rs type="person" ref="ref:JA1">John</rs> gave me a watercolour of <rs type="place" ref="ref:GtB01">the Place</rs> garden &amp; <rs type="person" ref="ref:La2">Lucie</rs> gave <rs type="person" ref="ref:LR1">Laura</rs> a small Bristol glass scent bottle &amp; I them some 14 Bristol marbles: &amp; introduced <rs type="person" ref="ref:La2">Lucy</rs> to 'my friend' <rs type="person" ref="ref:Mi6">Mr Mills</rs> for clasps.</p>
            <p>With <rs type="person" ref="ref:JN1">Jenny</rs> to <rs type="person" ref="ref:GA2">Green-Armytage</rs> who hopes to give her a clean bill of health on Wednesday &amp; to a blood test opposite at 6 <rs type="place" ref="ref:Har02">Harley St</rs>.  <rs type="person" ref="ref:GA2">G.A.</rs> gave <rs type="person" ref="ref:JN1">Jenny</rs> good advice about men &amp; about nursing homes. 	More dull travelling, uncomfortable night (no sleepers) in train.</p>
            <p>No customs troubles.  Arrived at 2.30.</p>

	Woke 10 o'clock after 12 hour sleep.</p>

            <p>Good food; Italo-German.</p>
            <p>
               <rs type="person" ref="ref:LR1">Laura</rs> slept all afternoon,  I began <bibl><rs type="cita" ref="ref:ATE"><hi rend="text-decoration: underline;">Troy</hi></rs></bibl> list of characters.</p>
            <p>Coffee at <rs type="person" ref="ref:Sw1">Schw</rs> &amp; <rs type="person" ref="ref:St1">Str</rs>'s.  We gave him the Victoria stampbox and her the steel acorn earrings and silver buckle.</p>

So took the <add hand="ref:h_RG" place="supralinear">half</add>house we nearly took yesterday.  <rs type="place" ref="ref:VGu01">Villa Guidi</rs>, an ex-Milanese palace.  <rs type="person" ref="ref:GP2">Signora Poggi</rs> – her son, an advocate &amp; art-critic – Italian &amp; has a feeling for cats &amp; <del hand="ref:h_RG">alt</del> old fashioned things.  150 <choice>
