July 8th Monday.

Last night Gelat explained that Pepe & Bujosa1 must make application for boat-house-roof together. Will get the Molí table today. Told him we would buy the Salón Concordia a radio set. He has sold the old steam machinery which will enlarge the Salón a lot: hopes to finish by end of month. Sandstone from the Hotel Florida.
Wrote Bank about £100 not paid in on May 9th by Barker as promised. Cabled Beck about putting Seizin Press first in imprint.
To Posada: doors being fitted, plastering here & there, broken stair mended, final row of stones at back door, ordered other[RG] shelves in despensa [sic: dispensa] 2, again, drainboard for kitchen.
Wrote to J. Cape about bygones: also about Arnie's film; suggested L & A useful to sell with film: gave him 10% on foreign sales. To Curtis Browne about film version delay. To Epp.Thatcher3 for camphor. To Ian Richmond about film delay. Tried to make plum & peach ice, with salt & ice. Did not put enough salt (1 kilo needed) but after supper at the Posada in the entrada4 (candles) & telling Juan where to put electric lights there, & making a list of work there tomorrow, came back & found a third of the thing ice-cream, solid, the rest liquid but cold. Worked till 1 a.m. at Can Torrent finishing Tom's Moon's No Fool.
