To Palma by camion1 with Karl; not Laura. Bought 100 p [pesetas]. worth of plants — bamboos,[RG] roses, papyrus [sic: papirus], petunias, and a number of others I don't know the English names of. Planted them in evening with Bartolome & old Sebastian & Karl & Laura. In Palma bought Isabella vases[RG] of white with silver lustre vine pattern, 10 p [pesetas]. balustrades for puente2, 15 pes [pesetas], (Casas)[RG] ship plate in brown faience3, 8 pes [pesetas], old English tray 4 pes [pesetas], mediaeval mortar with carved heads 10 pes [pesetas], (Gelabert)[RG] woollen tom-tit for Laura's empty cage, took broken green[RG] agate pieces to Pomar to be made into silver brooches.
Hart wrote asking whether I would agree to a compromise of truncated trade-edition of book, complete one later; wrote saying preferred limited complete edition, more dignified4.
Put in most of the[RG] plants, Bartolome, & Sebn helping.
