July 19th, Friday.

Bathed, 9.30 to 11, with Mary. Swam round cove. Found coral for Honor. Then Richards1 again.
Slept a little in afternoon while Laura went over Poets with Honor; awakened by Mary getting cigarettes.
To village: got Amador with donkey cart. Packed up boat, to go to Short: great relief.
Very hot day indeed. Solomon2 destroyed Laura's fan. Carl returned from Ibiza, with golden Ibizenean ear-rings for Laura, also linen shirt,[RG]blouse, and[RG] gala fan & two black sleeves; linen towels for Mary & Honor & set of silver buttons for me, with hexagonal points.
First zinnias enough[RG] for cutting.
In evening Richards3 again: have now done about 11,000 words. To Posada with fifth painted chair: ×××× [crossed out] put[RG] an ordinary Sheraton chair back in my bedroom.
Bed at 12 P.M.
