Working on proofs of A.F.G. all day, and having Laura read me the second part of 'Troy'.
Saw Sch & Str. Schw. went a bit mad, scratching at Karl's scarab with a pocket-knife & chipping the design.
Rain fell in the night, so I transplanted to the tulip-bed ×××× [indecipherable] : cardoon thistles, African marigolds, crane's bill: & French marigolds to the other bed.
Very nice letter from Jenny, which I answered. She is learning tap-dancing from a negro and doing a lot of understudying.
