Montague arrived

Thrashing corn at the farm.
×××× [indecipherable] Laura getting on better with her Macedonian Lives2.
Laura came for the first time to the Étang3: the others all bathed, protested at by fishermen.
First blackberries.
Violent thunderstorm all night & much rain.
Juan had promised us a cat from the entrepot4: but a fish cart visited & all the many cats got inside, were driven away & never seen again – Miguel ran after the van weeping in vain.
