This is the day of Chamberlain's fantastic visit to Berchtesgaden1. There is panic in England: even Len writes that H is like the American madman who balanced 14 hrs [hours] on a window ledge – & then had to jump so as not to disappoint his audience.
The usual drunken postman has fallen off his bicycle.
