Walked with Laura in streets & at a fairy antique shop bought silver cloak clasp 60 fr [francs] 2 assignat1 notes 5 fr [francs] 2 but[RG] blue buttons 8 fr [francs] picture of Capt [Captain] Ross2 at Prince Regent's bay3 (1818) 25 fr [francs] .
* Embarked at 11 am on the Champlain4: at lunch conversed with a hotel-installer. Cable from Isabel. Sailed at 6.30
Promenade deck filled with World's Fair packing-cases. Jazz band in bar: homosexual otherwise nice.
Stayed up till [until] 2, when we arrived at S'hampton. Calm sea, sun all day. But he5 was not allowed to embark till [until] 8 am.
