More packing. Spent a great part of the afternoon putting back hooks into the awful house – curtains & hanging them up.
Packed nearly all my own stuff.

A letter from John offering to resume correspondence: giving a wrong account of how it had ceased.
In the evening read aloud Walpole's Noble Authors1 to Laura.
Public praise pleases poets provided private payment plays prominent part2.
