Gelat returned. Had seen the expediente1 & defended himself to Masquelet, who gave him a solemn assurance that all was well. In the expediente[RG] report, derived from the expediente2, lies and omissions which Gelat and his lawyer answered. G. & L. both vaguely accused of nefarious

antecedents. There is some Palma Staff-Colonel who has done this. G. also got proceedings against carabineros3 dropped.
