Visit to Jenny, who was very quiet and glad to see me.
Robin Hale to tea: rather hopeless, just off to Poland.
Alan getting on well with novel.
Maisie's to supper: Joyce Forde and afterwards Professors Forde; & Childe (the ugliest man in London including W. Rothenstein) who had bad voices and bad manners. J.F., Violet, Douglas,[RG] West also. Low grade talk about traffic problems [sic: .] and a field-work film which the professors were showing each other leaving everyone
else in the dark.
